DJ BC

Due to my recent infatuation with Philip Glass, and my dire procrastination from many papers and much studying, I have stumbled across DJ BC.  He is crazy, my stumbling occurred when I was looking for Dr. Dog in my Itunes library.  I was intrigued by the never listened to album, Glassbreak, a play off of Glass' Glassworks.  In Glassbreak, DJ BC mashes Philip glass with all different kinds of hiphop.  I could only name the Beastie Boys, but I recognized other songs.  As for the Philip glass side of things, there were songs used from Glassworks, Mishima, Dracula, Einstein on the Beach, and my beloved Satyagraha.  The full list of which songs were mixed is here.  I can't imagine that it was difficult to match up the beats especially since Philips Glass's music can often be used as a clock, but it was a fun, interesting album.  After listening to the album a few times I checked out his website, www.DJBC.net.  It seems that at one point in time you could download all of his mixed albums, but the lawyers seemed to have made there presence clear.  However, under singles you can stream many of his mixes.  Some of his singles to check out are Champ in Black, any of the Promiscuous Girl mixes are great and of course the mix with my other love The White Stripes.  Also the cover is really cool.
