Over by the NYU center we found a nice cheap place to grab lunch or a drink. One of the best things about this place is that for thirty crowns you get a whole pot of tea, not just a single cup. For a little bit more you can get yucca tea with milk and honey. It smells like an intoxicating cinnamon elixir. They also have a Czech specialty, pickled brie. Its in the picture above (I forgot to take a picture before hand so it looks a little mangled). It has a great briney taste and they split it in half and stuff it with hot peppers before they begin the pickling process. They serve it with a sweet white kraut and a beet-cabbage kraut both quite delicious.
The first time I ate here I also ordered a brie and ham panini, again it was really delicious. Its a different type of panini too, it presses a triangle of bread into two smaller triangles. Yesterday I got the mushroom soup which was smokey and spicy and tasted a bit like my grandmothers mushroom soup so it was food and memories! I think I will be coming here for lunch and in between classes for some tea a snack and a warm place to read.
